One of the most notable features in the Power BI news in September was live editing of semantic models in Direct Lake mode. This innovative feature allows users to work directly with semantic models in Power BI Desktop, access data stored in OneLake, and use the Power BI Analysis Services engine in the Fabric workbench instead of on their local machine.



To start using this feature, you must first enable live editing from the preview options menu in Power BI Desktop. Next, select the semantic model in Direct Lake mode from the OneLake datacenter and cambodia telegram data select the Edit option from the Connect button drop-down menu.



Live Editing enables real-time changes to semantic models, enabling more efficient and seamless workflows. Each modification is applied directly to the model in the workspace, improving the data modeling experience. In addition, this feature provides the familiarity of Power BI Desktop and the ability to export to Power BI (PBIP) to support professional business development workflows.
