Inspiration for the future
Although the share of female students in STEM studies is increasing in Croatia, the disparity is still pronounced in the fields of electrical and mechanical engineering. In addition, the percentage of female students choosing STEM professions remains too low for the growing needs of the economy and competitiveness.
Last year, the first Engineer of the Year in Croatia was chosen, Snježana Miliša , who car owner database worked at Bugatti Rimac doo on the development of the famous Nevera. As she said:
Being selected as the Female Engineer of the Year is one of the best experiences I've ever had. Getting the opportunity to connect with amazing women and show the world what we're all capable of together is something you don't want to miss. So get your CVs ready, fill out your application, and start one of the best adventures of your life.
Medeja Lončar , President of the Management Board of Siemens Croatia dd, explained the reasons behind the initiative.
With this initiative, we want to ensure that female engineers in technology companies have their knowledge and experience recognized, and also encourage girls to choose engineering professions. Research shows that for most young people, a role model from their youth, male or female, was the decisive factor in choosing a technical profession, and we are aware that young people lack role models, especially women who are successful in technical professions.
