In anticipation of World Emoji Day , celebrated on July 17, Facebook has revealed which emojis are most used in Portugal . Globally, Facebook also reveals that, in the last 3 months, women have created more posts with emojis than men.

Every day, at any time, anywhere in the world, people use Facebook and Messenger to stay connected with their friends, family and communities, and often this communication happens through emojis.

In addition to revealing the most used emojis in Portugal , Messenger announced the launch of Soundmojis.

Soundmojis are a new way to send sound clips in Messenger . Now, you can choose from a library of sound effects (such as crickets , claps drums , and evil laughter and excerpts from popular songs. The sound is sent as an emoji, without words, which then surprises you by revealing a sound attached to the image.

Facebook is launching a new library entirely dedicated to Soundmojis that will be updated regularly.
