Website Promotion That Goes Beyond SEO

Post by nusaibatara »

Hello! I am Sofia Tsenekidou , founder of Tryseo . Since I was a child, I have been fascinated by the world of technology and marketing, and this led me to study Marketing with Economics at Stirling University in Scotland and to do my master's degree in Information Technology . The first 15 years of my career I worked in business positions, but my love for creation and technology led me to redefine my career and dedicate the last 10 years to SEO , digital marketing and website development .

One of the things that impresses me, but also worries me, is the way the term “website promotion” has been used for years in Greece. Many people identify it almost exclusively with SEO. And while SEO is truly the foundation for the success of a website, I believe that the term has much more extensions and possibilities.

Let's look at it in a little more detail:

Why SEO alone is not enough

Traditional advertising methods – a complementary force

Why SEO Alone Is Not Enough
If you ask a web promotion professional how to promote your website, they will most likely talk to you about backlinks , keyword optimization, guest posting , content optimization, and other related terms to SEO services . And of course, all of these are very important. SEO is essential because it helps a website appear in the organic search results of search engines like Google, Bing, Yandex. SEO is also the main factor that influences the suggestions currently made by AIs like Chatgpt, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, etc. However, it is only one side of promotion, and it is a side of promotion that takes time to bring good results.

Today, technology and the possibilities that marketing offers us have evolved so much that we can reach our audience in many different ways. And this is why I believe it is time to look at “website promotion” from a more holistic perspective .

How I See Website Promotion Today
My experience has shown me that website promotion is a multifaceted thing that includes SEO services and is not defined by the term SEO. In fact, it is a combination of online and offline strategies that work together to achieve the desired result.

Online Website Promotion with other methods

Social Media Marketing : Social media is the “everyday life” of the phone number data world today. You can create dynamic campaigns on Facebook, Instagram, or even TikTok, to reach your audience in a more direct and creative way with the goal of getting them to enter your website and complete a conversion.
Influencer Marketing : Collaborating with people who resonate with your audience. A post from an influencer can bring hundreds of new visitors to a business or professional's website.
Email Marketing : Sending personalized messages or newsletters can inform your audience about offers, new services or contests.
Google Ads : Google Ads is a tool that offers many options:
Text Ads : For those searching for specific keywords.
Shopping Ads: Ideal for e-shops.
Display Ads : Striking visual ads that grab attention.
YouTube Ads : If you want your message to have a greater impact, videos are the way to go.
Traditional Advertising Methods: A Complementary Force

Even though our era is digital, traditional advertising methods remain useful and often extremely effective. Why? Because they speak to the world in a more “human” and direct way.

These are some ideas that can enhance the promotion of a website:

Flyers and coupons: Hand out in neighborhoods or outside stores, leading the audience to your website.
Radio and television advertising: With references to your URL.
Product packaging: How often do we see corporate domains printed on boxes and bags? And yet, it works!
Participation in events and exhibitions: Where you can speak personally with your audience.
Outdoor advertising: Banners, posters, even billboards.
