Identifying Red Flags & Handling Objections

Post by bdjakaria76 »

Not every lead will be a winner. Learn to spot warning signs:

Unrealistic Budget: Significantly lower than market rates for the described scope.
Impossible Timeline: Demanding completion dates that are not feasible.
Vague or Evasive Answers: Particularly around budget or decision-making.

"Price is the Only Thing That Matters": While whatsapp number list price is always a factor, an exclusive focus on it can signal a difficult client who may not value quality or your expertise.
Decision-Maker Unavailable/Unwilling to Engage: If you can't get the key person on the phone or involved.

History of Bad Contractor Relationships: If they badmouth every contractor they've ever worked with, they might be the common denominator.
Disrespectful or Demeaning Tone: You don't need to tolerate abusive behavior.
Scope Creep Before You Even Start: Constantly adding "just one more thing" during the initial call.
Handling Red Flags/Objections:

Budget Too Low: "Based on the scope you've described, projects like this typically require an investment closer to [your realistic range]. Is that something that might be workable, or perhaps we could look at adjusting the scope or phasing the project?"
