· Difference between email provider and email client
The email provider is the company that offers you an email account and the means to send and receive emails.

While the email client would be the software that would allow you to access those functions and manage your emails.

For example we have:

◆ Thunderbird

◆ Outlook (application)

◆ Mobile apps (e.g. Gmail)

◆ Even webmail clients can be considered as such

These applications allow you to manage your email account easily, manage your emails, send new ones, etc.

► Email account
The email account you create with an email provider can usually be managed independently of the provider.

You could for example configure your Gmail account in Thunderbird if that is more convenient for you.

Or use the web application offered by your email provider.
