Personal health goes digital

Post by arzina566 »

There is a lot of innovation in the field of new services in healthcare. From a traditional (and sometimes boring) field to a breeding ground for new services and business models. Developments that could also be very promising in the Netherlands.

While entire industries are on hold (such as tourism), pharma, mental health and e-health are booming . Old paradigms are being renewed, think of the acceleration of telehealth. This shift creates space for new services, of which I would like to mention three examples.

Media mentions of telehealth more than doubled russia telegram data between 2019 Q4 and 2020 Q1. Think of the digitalization of the GP or the consultation of a specialist via instant chat , telephone or video. This has now become a solid solution for appointments and in some cases consultations.

Telehealth not only provides greater convenience in service provision, it can also drastically reduce the number of unnecessary consultations and referrals between GPs and specialists.

An example of telehealth.
App Cinapsis helped reduce unnecessary consultations by 85% in a network of UK hospitals – Mobi Health News, May 21, 2020.

This renewed faith in ‘digital’ was born out of necessity, but it is now delivering the time-saving and flexible benefits that doctors will be able to rely on in the future.

The same goes for using advanced technology. Think AI-implemented diagnostics through chatbots. These can save time, do data-driven triage , and track the spread of COVID-19, as the CDC Coronavirus chatbot has done over the past month.
