Google Hangouts will migrate to Google Chat

While the new app won't be able to completely replace Hangouts , Google Chat allows you to make mentions, use its own desktop app, customize notification sounds, customize dark mode, and use emojis or GIFs. In June, Google Chat Product Manager Ravi Kanneganti wrote in an official blog post: “As we take this final step to bring remaining Hangouts users to Chat, we hope users appreciate our continued investment in making Chat a powerful place to create and collaborate.”
