Messaging platforms have become the most used communication tools worldwide, far surpassing calls, especially between private users. But in addition to text messages, i also allows us to send videos, images, files and even voice notes.

At first I might seem like a fantastic idea - this is a problem that in the long run affects the capacity of our terminal, because it is filled with all the videos, audio, files and images that we receive, if we have not taken appropriate measures to prevent them from being stored in our terminal . The solution to move WhatsApp to SD card is over.

Automatic saving in WhatsApp
When I say that we have not used such possibilities, I mean that by default WhatsApp canada telegram mobile phone number list download and save all the content that we receive on our smartphone in an individual or group chat. Through the configuration options, WhatsApp allows us to choose if we want all this type of content to be saved automatically or if we want to save it manually.

Installing this last option is always the most recommended, because it allows us to filter all the content that we want to keep on our smartphone and, by the way, we avoid that our device quickly fills up with garbage that we want to keep.

Turn off automatic saving of images and videos in WhatsApp
In fact, every time we install WhatsApp for the first time, the program is configured to automatically download and save all the files we receive over Wi-Fi and only images if we use a data connection.

To turn off the automatic saving of files, we must perform the following steps:

Turn off auto-save in WhatsApp

First, we access the WhatsApp Settings by clicking on the three vertical dots located in the upper right corner of the application.
In Settings, tap on Data & storage.
In the Auto Download section , we have two options
Download using mobile data.
Download using Wi-Fi.
Turn off auto-save in WhatsApp

To disable automatic saving, we must access each of these sections and uncheck the boxes: Photos, Audio, Videos and Documents. WhatsApp does not allow you to disable the automatic download of voice reminders in order to offer a better quality of service.

This type of data does not consume a lot of space But if its use is very common, it can take up a lot of space on our computer, so we will always be forced to review the space it occupies and delete it from our device, or move the content to SD - map

Move WhatsApp to SD card
With Android 8, Google introduced the possibility to move the applications to the SD card that we have installed on our device, which allows us to prevent it from quickly filling up with applications that we do not plan to use very often, but we want them to always be there.

The main reason for saving the program in the system storage is the download speed file . Although memory cards are very fast today, the access speed to internal memory is much faster, so applications will always load faster.

The problem is that we cannot transfer some programs to the SD card . WhatsApp is one of them. The only solution we have is to move all the files stored on our device and coming to us from this program in order to free up the free space we need to work properly.

To move the WhatsApp folder, in the Play Store we have various applications that allow us to do it quickly and easily, so we do not need to have a lot of specific knowledge to be able to do this job. The program we are going to use is Files Go, a file manager that Google makes available to us for free.

Once we have downloaded and installed the program, we launch it and open the Explore tab .
On the Overview tab we access this option Internal Storage , the option is available under Storage Devices , located at the bottom.
Next, we look for the WhatsApp folder. Hold a folder to select it, then tap the three vertical dots in the upper right corner.
Among all the options shown, we select Go to and we select External Storage.
As soon as we move the WhatsApp folder and access the application again, it will create a new folder with the same name, where it will return to store all the multimedia files that we receive through the application .

If we don't want to repeat this process constantly, the best thing we can do is to deactivate the automatic saving of the received media files, as I explained in the previous step. Thus, if we are really interested in saving the received content, we can do it manually and save it directly in the gallery of our device.
