Run an in-depth analysis of your backlinks

Carefully analyze all your inbound backlinks and categorize them into:

Good

Paid

Spam

3. Contact the managers
Ask them to remove toxic links pointing to your site. If you think a link has value, contact the webmaster and ask them to change the link attribute to rel=”nofollow”.

4. Disavow with caution!
Prepare a disavow .txt file (you can use SEMrush's Backlink Audit) and submit the file to Google.

5. Submit a request for reconsideration.
