A few weeks ago, I attended the 3rd RSEncuentro , a collaborative event designed to actively share and learn about Social Responsibility . Bannister Global provided pro bono public relations and media relations services. The panel discussion I participated in featured a discussion on communication and Social Responsibility , and that event allowed me to reflect on some of the reflections I've been gathering on a complicated relationship.
I've been involved in communications projects for social responsibility for many years , editing reports, organizing events, fundraising , and developing online tools. During this time, I've been able to connect self employed data with some of the best professionals in the field of social responsibility , and their messages have resonated with me. I'm convinced that a company must have social objectives , without ever forgetting that one of these is generating economic value for its employees, its customers, and society at large.
1. Creating shared value
For many years now, companies have not been analyzed solely as generators of shareholder value. There are many other factors taken into account for large Ibex listed companies, which are monitored by proxy advisors , anti-money laundering, good governance codes, environmental regulations, and CNMV obligations.
But SMEs must also consider the creation of shared value at the heart of their business. When we launched Bannister Global, we were clear that Social Responsibility isn't just a paint job; it's the structure that supports a building .
