Here's a typical example of a business: about 80% of sales usually come from only 20% of customers. Or as Björn "Nalle" Wahlroos put it:
“Most customers just bring money to the bank.”
I realized how few things actually make money. And how few people I actually enjoy being around. How many – things and people – actually just drain my energy, not generate it.
I realized how much I had done in vain and how I had focused on the wrong things. At the expense of a few crucial things.
For example, most of the “jobs” I used to do were really just a waste of time. I pretended to be busy. I was on call on social media. I argued with idiots from other places about trivial things. I admired “multitaskers” who had many irons in the fire. I thought that was the path to success.
How wrong I was...
I chatted with friends during peak working hours online and on my cell phone. I answered anyone's calls at any time. I was always reachable.
I did a million things – but none of them very well.
To be honest, I did a lot of things just because I was trying to impress others – at the expense of my own desires and goals. A bit like financial guru Dave Ramsey says…
“We buy things we don't need, with money we don't have, to impress people we don't like.”
Damn stupid – and common.
Discipline was lacking. So were the results.
Now I've dedicated the first few hours of each day (the time when I'm at my sharpest) to only the most important things. Everything else can wait. Nothing can interrupt me then. Not friends, not clients, not even the President of Finland.
Because I write for work, in my case, the most important work means writing, writing, writing.

By carefully analyzing what I'm good at and what I'm not, I have, without exaggeration, revolutionized my life in almost every aspect.
My workday has shrunk to just a few hours. I have time for everything I really want to do.
For example, I can spend hours a day doing my other favorite thing: thinking alone in silence. That usually gives me my best new unexpected ideas, which in turn produces more.
How to make six figures in a year
My recipe is simple:
– Focus like crazy on what you excel at. (See the picture below to see what concentration looks like
)– And avoid things you are mediocre or bad at.
– Likewise, avoid everything you hate .
Copywriter at work
Copywriter at work. It's a real job, listen.
That's why I've hired a cleaner, for example. I wasn't created on this planet to clean toilets – I'm sure of that. I'd rather be working up a sweat at the gym while cleaning. It gives me more energy, cleaning would just take it away.
Being efficient has increased my income, which has allowed me to buy myself more time. Cleaning is just one example.
By investing the returns from this newfound efficiency, I've also been able to grow my wealth. Which in turn generates more money. Without having to do anything other than what I do best: write and think.
I call that cycle the Spiral of Wealth . It only gets stronger over time because by doing and studying what you are good at, you earn more.
It is the path to financial freedom.
Best of all – it's a path where you do things you really like and enjoy. And you get a great reward for it.
Just think.
It's almost unfair compared to, for example, the waiter at this cafe. He has to work 8-12 hours a day. If he stops working, his income will stop.
