On September 26 and 27, the 7th edition of Building Leaders took place at the Príncipe de Vergara headquarters of EAE Madrid, where a group of 6 students from different Masters won this edition with an innovative proposal for Leroy Merlin that consisted of offering the company a solution to increase visits to the physical store.

The proposal was materialized through 3 ways: being able to see in the app the exact location in the store of the product being searched for, being able to call a worker through the app to come and help you in the store and the creation of an optimal route through the store based on the products the customer has in the basket.

Patricia Ruiz, one of the winners of this edition, tells us that it has been a satisfaction for her and her team that their proposal was valued by the company and that it could be implemented.

Five leading national and international gambling phone number data companies participated in this seventh edition of Building Leaders, including Leroy Merlin, Decathlon, Adeo Logistics, Enterprise Mobility and Farlabo. Each one presented a business case based on improving customer experience with technology, and the students had to propose a solution for each company in groups.

Eduardo Jiménez, a member of the Farlabo Talent team, explained that “we have come to discover all the young talent that EAE Madrid has, that of all its students, the creativity, the teamwork, the diversity of opinions that end up being reflected in a project and, above all, to get to know them in order to find a fit within our team, which we will be delighted to have.”

On September 26, the participating students had a training session led by Jose Luis Santamaría, Talent Consultant at EAE Madrid, in which he helped them prepare the pitch to propose the solution to companies and they also made a visit to the Exponential Space

On the 27th, the Hackathon, the main event of Building Leaders, was held. In the first sessions, the activity was explained and each participant gave a presentation pitch, through which the companies chose the members for their teams. Once the teams were formed, each group was separated into classrooms and the specific problem that each company had regarding the user experience was explained to them, and then they immediately started working on a solution to later present to the jury.

The big winner was the team led by Leroy Merlin. The problem raised by the company was the cannibalization of its app over the physical store. Faced with this situation, the idea proposed by the students was to combine the in-store experience with the digital experience.

The jury was composed of Rafael Eduardo Pinilla Mantilla, Talent Acquisition Coordinator at NH Hoteles, Javier Ibañez Herreros HR People Development & Learning Specialist at L'Oréal and Irini Sfirakis from the Deiser Solutions team.

One of the aspects that the jury valued most was the quality of the project. They also highlighted the cohesion of the team, which was evident in the participation of all the members during the presentation and the execution of the message: clear, direct and creative.
