Regular readers will almost certainly remember this post entitled “ Solidarity, finance and a hashtag: innovation on the #SmartChallenge network ” that we published at the end of last year.
In summary, the challenge launched by EVO Banco consisted of recruiting three well-known people in our country: actress Ana Millán, Real Madrid basketball player Felipe Reyes and TV presenter Juanma Iturriaga. For six months, these three personalities have competed for a good cause, competing to obtain the rich people data highest return on their money and demonstrating that with EVO's Smart Fund any traditional saver can become an investor, as it is a digital, simple and secure alternative to manage their finances in an easy and clear way. And the goal, to donate 10,000 euros to the NGO they have chosen.
Well, finally the winner of the #DesafíoInteligente, the charity competition of EVO Banco, has been Felipe Reyes, who has donated the 10,000 euros he won to the NGO Unoentrecienmil. The prize was presented by Enrique Tellado, CEO of EVO, to José Carnero, president and founder of the NGO chosen by the basketball player, who will allocate these funds to the fight against childhood leukaemia.
Specifically, the amount raised by Felipe Reyes with his investments will be dedicated to a research project by the Unoentrecienmil Foundation, which has already allocated 375,000 euros to four research grants. Every year, 300 new cases of childhood leukaemia are diagnosed and, although the survival rate is 80%, the Unoentrecienmil Foundation seeks to raise funds to invest in research and ensure that 10 out of 10 diagnosed children are cured. The Unoentrecienmil Foundation was founded in 2012 with the aim of supporting research into childhood leukaemia with a clear motto: leukaemia is a very dangerous enemy for one person, but not for a hundred thousand.

Jose Carnero, president and founder of Unoentrecienmil, was very grateful to receive this donation as a result of this initiative: “When Felipe Reyes told us that he wanted to donate the funds to us before the challenge, we were very happy. He told us that he was going to do the impossible to win and help all the children. And he has achieved it despite the fact that it was very close.
