The immigration file is related to some of the procedures that foreigners must process before the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Public Administrations and is even related to expulsion orders.
The file covers many procedures, some of which are:
Residence files for family reunification.
Residence permit for studies or training
Residency Renewals
Foreigner Identity Number (NIE).
Processes related to the initiation or processing of nationality files.
The file does not refer to a specific document, but rather covers an entire procedure . In fact, it is very important that you know your file if you have any pending procedure because it will contain all the documents that you dentist database have set aside and those that the Administration has set aside. As an interested party in the procedure, you have the right to consult the immigration file at any time during the procedure and see its status.
Check the immigration file
As with any administrative procedure, this one will go through several stages. The file will not be the same at the beginning of the procedure as at the end, so you have the possibility of consulting it through the following channels :
Internet: through the Cl@ve identification mechanism, electronic certificate or by means of a form.
SMS: send a message to 600 12 43 77.
Telephone: by calling the telephone number 902 02 22 22 .
With these three options you can check which stage of the immigration file your procedure is in.
What are the statuses of the file?
An immigration procedure is an administrative procedure that is carried out before an Administration, and like all procedures, it goes through different phases or states:
In process : the file will first go through this status. When you submit all the documentation, for example to apply for residency, the Administration will study all these documents to make a decision. This status/process can last from 3 to 6 months, so you have to be patient.
Favorable resolution : when the file changes to the status of “favorable resolution” it means that the application has been approved. If we continue with the previous example, it will mean that your application for residency has been approved and granted. The Administration has 15 days to notify you.
Denial of application: If the status is “resolved not favourable” it means that your application has not been granted. In the example above, it means that your residency has been denied. The next option you have is to appeal.
In the process of appeal : this is the next step in the event that your application is resolved unfavorably. This status means that the administration is studying the appeal.
Archived : means that the Administration has requested documentation from you and you have not provided it within the deadline or that you have withdrawn your application.
