How often to post on X (which we still call Twitter)

Post by kumartk »

Things move fast on X. Because the platform is news-driven, tweets have a very short lifespan, so you'll need to post a little more frequently than on other channels.

Brayden Cohen explains, "It's probably the only channel where quantity is more important than quality, I think." The more you post, the more likely you are to appear in the platform's endless feed.

There are many heavy users on X. Some accounts post 50 or 100 tweets a day. If you have the time, you're welcome to do so. But to stay active on X and maintain interactions with your followers, you don't need to stop everything and spend 100% of your time tweeting.

In fact, for the general @Hootsuite account (which caters to followers, customers, mexico phone number data and prospects), the Hootsuite team posts between 2 and 3 times per day.

Remember, regardless of posting frequency, best practice is to follow the rule of thirds:

a third of tweets to promote your business
a third party to share personal stories
a third party to provide information from experts or influencers
Keep in mind that interactions with your audience or other community members are just as important as posting frequency!

Key X (Twitter) stats to keep in mind:

On average, a user spends 5.1 hours per month on X.
A fifth of X users under 30 are unable to say how much time they spend on the site because they visit it so often .
16% of internet users aged 16 to 64 use X to find out about brands.
People spend at least 6 minutes a day on X in 2023.

How often to post on LinkedIn
Post 1 to 2 times a day on LinkedIn.

LinkedIn claims that companies that post weekly see double the engagement on their content . The platform also recommends posting at least once a day, including on weekends. Oh, and it adds that the best way to do this is by scheduling your posts with [exceptional] partners like Hootsuite. This isn't a hype, it's written in black and white in its documentation . There's no denying the facts!

Keep in mind that LinkedIn content can stay on users' timelines for a very, very long time. Why? Because when someone interacts with your post, it appears in their connections' feeds. Additionally, users can change their feed view by showing the most relevant or recent content first. This can increase the longevity of your posts if they go viral.

Quality trumps quantity here, so it's important to create interesting, engaging, and relevant content. LinkedIn's feed filters are currently being updated. Soon, you'll be able to create a filter to display only "video content," for example.

Hootsuite's LinkedIn account is generally the one we post on the most: between 2 and 3 times a day, and sometimes up to 5 times depending on campaigns and events.
