Red.es, the public entity in charge of managing the ' Kit Digital ' programme of aid for the digitalisation of SMEs, will create an office to prevent and detect possible fraud in accessing this benefit, according to information provided on Tuesday at the New Economy Forum by the general director of Red.es, Alberto Martínez Lacambra.
The head of Red.es said that they have planned between eight and ten people who will "permanently track" beneficiaries of the digital "check" and digitizing companies "to avoid possible loan data irregularities." "We cannot guarantee that they will not occur, but we are going to put all the means to ensure that this does not happen," said Martínez during his speech at this informative meeting organized by Nueva Economía Fórum in Madrid.
The director of Red.es added that in order to prevent anomalous access to the 'Digital Kit' aid, they have also initiated contacts with the European prosecutor's office and with the National Anti-Fraud Coordination Service (SNCA), and on June 2 they will organize a session for digitalizing companies and voluntary managers of aid applications to inform them "of what can happen to those who take the wrong path."
"I am convinced that in the 99% of cases there will be impeccable behaviour, but I ask companies to inform us if they detect any irregularity," said Lacambra.
The director of Red.es added that they have already received 60,000 applications to date for access to the voucher of up to 12,000 euros for digitalisation provided for in the 'Digital Kit', and one in two companies entitled to receive the cheque has already signed up.

Lacambra highlighted the demand that has been seen in provinces such as Soria, where 70% of the total number of SMEs eligible to receive it have received applications, Palencia (62%), Burgos (56%) and Teruel (55%).
The director of Red.es stated that the 'Digital Kit' has already become "a European reference" that several countries are looking at and now the objective is to achieve a similar echo in future calls to the first one that was aimed at SMEs with 10 to 49 employees.
